Membership of the Cambridge Angels is by invitation only, and each Member takes their own individual investment decisions. In essence, the group shares investment opportunities such that all Members have the option, but not the obligation, to invest in any given start-up company.
The Cambridge Angels are active Angel investors, which means that we participate directly in the ‘entrepreneurial process’ by advising start-up companies at the strategic level, whilst also leveraging our network of contacts to remove bottlenecks at an operational level as well.
In line with our active investment philosophy, one of our Members acts as the ‘Lead Angel’ for all of the Cambridge Angels that have chosen to invest in a particular company, providing a single point of contact for both entrepreneurs and Members alike. In addition, it is usual for our ‘Lead Angel’ to take a seat on the board once we have invested in a new portfolio company.
